Home From the Castle

I have actually been home from the castle since October 1st but have just not been able to sit up long enough to get on the computer. I am doing really well and have not had any complications at all. The pain has not been as bad as I expected and I mainly notice it when I am walking or when I try to sit up straight for more than 5 minutes. I have not had a chance to talk to my surgeon as he was gone after my surgery and his associates came to see me in the hospital. I have a lot of questions to ask and I am looking forward to my 2 week post-op appointment on Thursday. I did get to see the pictures of my uterus and I must say it certainly explains all the pain and pressure I was feeling. It looks very sick and I can see at least 2 tumors in the picture and possibley more. I am looking forward to seeing the pathology report to get all of the info.

I just want to say thank you to all of the ladies that have answered my questions before surgery. It did make the experience much easier because I knew what to expect. I am very happy that it is over and I am surprised how great I feel considering. I am sending out my best wishes to those sisters that are still waiting for surgery. I hope all of you have as good of an experience as mine has been.

Welcome home!! Make sure you rest and take care of yourself. Write down all the questions as you think of them for your doctor, that way you won't forget.
Gentle hugs

I'm so happy that everything went well for you. Take it easy, sleep lots, drink your water and (yes I'm going to say it) Walk, walk, walk!!!

Don't forget to take your pain meds, keep on top of the pain, and everything will be fine.

Hi Terri,

I am so happy that you are home and doing so well. Remember you are a now, so you must be pampered. Get lots of , drink lots of water, and take short when you can.

Remember that there is a lot of encouragement and help for you during your recovery over on the Post Op board. We look forward to hearing more from you over there.

Kay

Thanks for all the advice. I have noticed it is hard to find the right balance between walking enough and walking too much but I am learning. It is amazing how our bodies let us know when enough is enough. I haven't really had a problem with headaches after that first week so I guess I am lucky. It does surprise me how much I can sleep though! I will be posting on the Post-Op boards now but wanted to thank all of you for the support.
