When can I take a Tub bath?

I went in to work for 2 hours today. I could really use a CALGON TAKE ME AWAY BATH. Do they still sell Calgon? LOL

My DR. initially told me no tub baths for 6 weeks. I forgot to ask him at my 3 week post op if he was still holding to that. It's too late today to call him to find out. So I thought I'd look to the Sisters for their opinions.

Of course, I'll call him in the morning before I go plop myself in the tub!

When can I take a Tub bath?

I think all docs have different guidlines that they go by. I had a hemroidectomy along with my TVH. I asked the gyn because the rectal suregeon said that I would need to take hot baths as well as sitz baths for pain relief as well as clenliness. I was given the ok to take baths right away and have been taking ALOT of them. They did help with the pain from the rectal surgery. I am 3 weeks post op and have had to problems with a UTI or any kind of infection. However I do not think it would be a good idea to use clagon or any other bath product for awhile. But please ask your DR. Just giving you my experience. Kat

When can I take a Tub bath?

I too have heard lots of different opinions on the tub bath so I called my gyn this am and she said I could have been taking baths since I got home as long as I felt able to climb in and out of the tub. So, I got right in and now everything is oh so much better.

When can I take a Tub bath?

Well let me tell ya~ I was all excited but honestly don't think I was missing much first of all I had to scrub the h*ll out of my tub since it has jets, those little critters hold all sorts of mold and mildew no matter how spotless you keep it so that broke my back, then the tub experience was kinda disappointing, it actually hurt up there not sure if it was the really hot water I could feel or the bath product I used but it definetly burned and wasn't very comfortable so it was very shot lived

When can I take a Tub bath?

My Dr. said no baths for two weeks. I waited till I was a little stronger at four weeks for fear of falling or slipping in the tub.

When can I take a Tub bath?

I just wish I had a tub. Maybe someday I will have a house that has a tub in it. Showers are ok but I miss the long soaks after a rough day!

When can I take a Tub bath?

Every dr is different, but I was released to take bathes right away. Yes they do make Calgon. I usually use Bath and Body works bubble bath but ran out and didn't feel like going to Bath and Body Works to get more, so I stopped at Wal-Mart. They had Calgon but it was in powder form. I have always used liquid form bubble bath. I didn't get any b/c I was afraid it wouldn't work the same as the liquid. Does anyone use the powder form?

Cherrykitty, I have a tub with jets and the place I bought it from said that the jets would stay clean as long as I run the jets at least 2 to 3 times a week. He said the only thing that needed to be done to them is to run bleach through them about once a month. I have done that for about 6 months which is how long I have had the new tub and the jets have stayed clean. Do you run them often?

When can I take a Tub bath?

I would think that if you've been cleared to return to work, it wouldn't hurt to take tub baths, but you might want to call your doctor and ask. I was cleared at 2 weeks.

Yes, Calgon is still sold in stores. The plain-Jane version is found in the laundry section at Wal-Mart. Scented versions are in health and beauty with the bubble baths.

Hope you enjoy a nice, relaxing tub bath soon!
