What if nerve blocks don't help?

Re: number of nerve blocks that can be done. My pain doc said max of 3 in 6 months using cortisone but as many as I want using marcaine or lidocaine only.

What if nerve blocks don't help?

I was told 4 x per year with steroids was the max they would do. I am suppose to have another set tomorrow, but am going to have to reschedule due to transportation problems (story of my life, ha!). I am on week 4 of the Cymbalta and AM definitely noticing a decrease in my pain levels and better sleep patterns. I'm actually dreaming again! But, I've also noticed that I'm more anxious on the Cymbalta than I was Zoloft and am having heartburn. I am beginning to think we just trade one thing for another.

I am glad the meds are helping you. Heck I forget what a dream is as I can't remember the last time I even had a dream. Think it was about a year or two ago. I never dream. My pain doctor pretty much dismissed me & sent me on my own since the blocks did not help. My fear. So it's just me and what ever over the counter meds pain meds. My tummy is not doing good at all on the over the counter stuff. Tyonel does not cut it so I've been taking bayer, which I know is a no no with my stumach problems, but I feel I have no choice as I can't handle the pain without anything.

I have an apt with a new family doctor 4 weeks from today. Hoping & praying she will have some awnsers.
