Well, it's day 18 after my TAH. I just wanted to tell everyone that stopping many of my activities cold turkey for the surgery was the best thing. I have a tendency to take on way too much--especially volunteer work. With three kids it has been tough to balance. I have decided to let go of some of my volunteer work and spend more time with my family. Saying "no" has always been very hard for me. Having all of this time to rest and consider life has helped me to see the light. I usually think that I have to use every moment productively or I'm wasting time. I forget how great it is to do NOTHING and just BE alone or with my family/friends sometimes. Hope all of you experience some great revelations for yourselves during this unique time!! Cheers!!

Good for you lilies!
I have actually enjoyed my time off ~ it is the first time I have ever taken time for "just me", and as I am getting ready to go back to work next week I feel like my batteries are recharged. I needed this time and I am SO GLAD that I was able to take it! Like lilies, I hope that all of you can find something new and wonderful about yourselves during your recovery. Good luck everyone.

Best wishes... Love,
Anna

I am self-employed and rarely take vacations, this is the closest I've come to having one in some time! My doctor mentioned that when women have this surgery, they should just take advantage of the fact that they need time to heal, they need to do nothing, they need to pass some things off to other family members, etc. I'm sure it's easier when there are no children in the house, but even if there are, call in those favors, gals, give yourself this special time for you! Life and all that jazz will still be there when you feel up to taking it on again.
