Blood clot? Did pain come and go? Get worse?
I'm not doing much of anything since I'm feeling so sore and tender. Yesterday morning I could hardly put weight on my right foot - my foot hurts so much I cannot stand on it. It's a little bruised feeling to the touch, but unbearable with weight. I haven't gone anywhere, done anything, stepped on anything, nothing. Oddly, it felt better later in the day. Still sore, but not as bad.
This morning it hurts so much I don't even have to put weight on it - it's horrible.
Called doc - yesterday, nurse said doc had nothing to say about it. Called again today, nurse said why are you calling Dr. X about your foot? She's not a foot doctor. I said well, I've never had this pain before, I had surgery on the 21st, she wanted any leg pain reported. She said this isn't leg pain, it's your foot. I said I don't know if I should call or not, I've never had a hysterectomy before and don't know what to expect. I've had 2 women say call your doc, you don't know if it's a clot or something unrelated but she should know. The nurse said if you think you have a clot go to the ER.
She was so condescending I felt like a complete fool for calling. Now I don't know what to do.
What did blood clot pain feel like? Did it hurt to touch? Was it like a stabbing, aching, bruised, burning? And most importantly, did it come and go or was it consistent?

Blood clot?
Hi histersistersoo,
I haven't had a blood clot, so I can't comment on how it felt. This is definitely not normal, whether its related to your surgery or not. I hope you will call your regular dr right away and find out what's going on here.
Let us know what you find out.
 's, Rita

Blood clot?
It's certainly very strange and should be checked out as soon as possible. If anything, it sounds very similar to gout. I'm not saying for one minute that it is, but anything out of the ordinary following major surgery should be investigated.
Wishing you all the best.

Blood clot?
Spent afternoon in ER. x-ray and ultrasound reveal nothing. Pain persists, as well as some along calf.
Praying it will be gone tomorrow.
Thank you for the replies.

Blood clot?
I've just developed this same problem! The ball of my left foot is inflamed, excruciatingly sore, and I have a hard time walking on it. My first thought was that it was a blood clot, also. I've been doing some research on the internet, and I believe it's gout. What I've read is that it's somewhat rare in women but usually happens after menopause and/or surgery.
I'm curious if anyone else has had this develop and what you are doing about it.
