Went To The Gyno/Oncologist.....

ok, I am feeling sick this morning. I know most have gone thru this here and understand.
I was diagnosed CIN III back the first week of Oct. my than doctor said we can do a TAH. that is when I found this board ...and started doing my research. I made an appointment with a Gyno/Onco. 10 days ago. she comes highly recommended. she is very nice and knows her stuff. she did further biopsys and blood work.

now over the past year and half my white blood count has been on a steady rise upward, and iron is bad. I am tiered all the time and just not feeling right.

I have been waiting for my results since 10 days ago(dr had a week vaction) and they just called me and told me there is something else there, and she wants my ultra-sound moved up...I go tomorrow.

I am a nervous wreck, I feel like dooms day is right there!
what could it be??? I cannot stand the wait!!!!!

thanks alll thou for telling me to get the second opinion, I feel much better off in this drs hands!!!
sorry, just needed to vent!

Went To The Gyno/Oncologist.....

Janet, I'm not sure what could be going on, but I wanted to give you a and let you know that we're here for you. I'll be saying a prayer that everything will turn out okay. I know how frightening all this can be (I also have CIN III and other weird symptoms as well.)

And hopefully, whatever it might be, it'll be taken care of soon. Let us know how you're doing.

s,

Lisa

Janet -

I am so sorry you have been dxed with cancer. But you have done exactly the right thing by getting yourself to an expert. I am sorry you had to wait, but it is much better for the doc to know as much as possible before doing surgery.

And as you see, when needed, gyn oncs can often get your tests moved up. I am sure now that the doc is back from vacation, things will move fast. Do not be suprised or alarmed though if the doc wants a CT scan too. Sometimes they want the CT so they can moitor changes after treatment. We all have bumps and lumps and spots so the big deal is comparing CTs over time.

Usually too, gyn oncs have pretty good office staff. Mine has a nurse practitioner who has been with the doctor for many years, so while she never speaks for the doctor, she is pretty good at knowing what tests he'll want and getting them scheduled.

You might ask is they can ask for a "stat" reading of the ultrasound so you won't have to be worrying over thanksgiving. This too is pretty common. In my office, the gyn onc often comes in and views the ultrasound as it is being done.

Keep us posted on what happens tomorrow.

thanks all, yes, I called the dr office to make sure they knew about it being moved to tomorrow at 1030am. the dr office said they would arrange for the results to be read by the dr around 1-2pm. and for me to call to get results.

Went To The Gyno/Oncologist.....

I Know! I KNOW! It's the worst feeling. The anticipation and what-if's are the worst. Last year this time I was diagnosed. Still went to the beach for Th.giving, then came home and had the TAH/BSO at Duke with all the fantastic specialists who see these things all the time. I felt, and feel, like nothing will be missed by them.

You are on their agenda now, and you've found the best doctors, so now you'll be finding out what is up with the tests. I wish you the best.

Ugh. the WAITING! THE WORST!

I'm sorry you have this worry, but glad you are able to get it looked into so quickly.

Hang in there, and as Ellen would say, "dont' waste a good panic".
