How much sitting is too much?

I have a band christmas concert next week, plus christmas parties. For the band concert, it goes on for awhile with the show bands, the concert band, the choir comes in for a bit, and if you include the warmups for each group it goes on quite awhile. How long is it recomended to sit, for what length of time. I am confused on that point.

How much sitting is too much?

I am no expert, but I would think sitting quietly through a Christmas show and musical would be ok as long as you are comfortable. Doesn't seem a lot different then sitting on the couch for hours watching tv. ???

Listen to your body--it will be more then happy to tell you when you have had enough.

How much sitting is too much?

When I am at home I lay back, and get up and stretch every few minutes. I don't know, just something I was obsessing over.

How much sitting is too much?

I also had that concern. A week post op I sat too long on the computer and my body let me know it. I don't seem to have a problem sitting any length of time now. If I know I'll be sitting a while, I will get up and walk across the house, then go back to laying, and sitting some more.
I was telling my DH that I am confused as to what is too much and what is not enough.
I guess we have to use our best judgement.

How much sitting is too much?

Hi (((Star))),

I can tell you my experience: Four weeks post op I decided I could handle going to church. I sat for forty five minutes and then left early and went home and was in bed for the rest of the day. It exhausted me, but also caused a lot of discomfort. Mind you, all I did was sit. You might want to make sure you have a way to get out of there if it gets uncomfortable. Better yet, is there someone who could video tape it for you? Our Children don't want us to be in pain, and they are capable of understanding these situations.

If you are actually in the band, then I would say you would be better off skipping this one for sure.
