I am taking 0.5 climara patch. After blood work i was told that i am getting enough estrogen. I had the lab work (Hormone Levels) done on the same morning that i switched to new pathch I am haviging some night sweats. Not as bad as some of the ladies have mentioned on here. Also some bladder problems and constipation. Can too little estrogen also cause the bladder and constipation problems. Thank you.

Hi Daria,
Interesting that they measured your levels at 5 weeks post op. Around the 6 week mark you seem to start losing any stores your body had and settle into the new level. While this is happening you can expect some hot flushes and maybe some night sweats, but it should settle soon, if not you may need an adjustment in dosage.
If you changed the patch the morning of the test it's possible that it was an incorrect reading, after all it's spread over a week and you may have a fast absorption rate or something. You also have to make sure that it's stuck down properly because the estrogen won't absorb well. The blood tests can be a guide but are not the be all and end all - symptoms are far more important. The patch is something I haven't tried, so I can't really comment from first hand experience, just common sense. Are the night sweats coming at particular times during that week? Like just before you change it?
hopefully it's just cos you are approaching that 6 week mark where most of us have a bit of a drop in what our body stored.
