Nearly 5 weeks post-op and stingy/burning feelings

I am nearly 5 weeks post-op from a TAH and the last few days I have had more tenderness than I have had in a long time... twinges, tinglies, burning feeling along incision (vertical) and achy feeling in vagina area. Not downright painful, sorta hurts but annoying more so than pain. I am not doing any more than I have been doing, but am getting a lot of bloating and swelling... I already have a fluffy tummy that hangs down (TMI I know) but am wondering if it is causing the pulling/stretching feeling...

I hope this makes sense!

I would certainly go to your doctor to be checked out. I ended up having an internal abcess that had ruptured at 5 weeks post op that landed me back into the hospital for a week.
Remember you only get 1 chance to heal. Don't be afraid to ask you doctor- that's what they are there for!
Good luck and take care,
Leslie

Nearly 5 weeks post-op and stingy/burning feelings

hi nyxluna
I hd all the same things as you and it was totally normal-part of the healing but as advised check with your doctor for reassurance-i was worried and got checked out but everything was fine but i looked at it as a warning sign to take it easy, these feelings lasted from 4-7 wks before it settled down. Then i found this site and i was relieved there was so many women going through the same experience.i still get the stingy/burning on my incision now at 12 wks but its not as bad.My swelling went down from the 9th wk after- but it still swells up by the evening espeacially after iv done alot of walking.
Go to the docs otherwise you will be worrying too much.
good luck and hope you have a smoother recovery.
God bless.

Nearly 5 weeks post-op and stingy/burning feelings

Hi nyxluna,
We visited the castle on the same day. I feel exactually the same. More swelling, soreness and even pain at times. More tiredness, more irritable and even a little down at times.
I had TAH BSO.
I have put mine down to trying to do too much too soon. I have now taken a step back and stop worrying that the dishes aren't in the dishwasher, or the beds aren't made. I have starting taking more rest like in the early days. We will get there girl and come out the other side feeling fit and well!
Happy recovery.
Christina
