After all the mess of Christmas morning, I get to sit and watch my husband and son pick up all the wrapping paper, ripped ribbon, and the like.

A few days later, I will sit smiling, while the same two take down the tree and other decorations and put them all away for another year.

I won't be making breakfast, lunch, or dinner for several weeks.

No trash carry out for me any time soon. No vacuuming or toting grocery bags upstairs.

I won't feel guilty for taking a nap instead of doing a load of laundry.

There's something good to be seen in everything, isn't there?

Love and care to all my sisters . . . think of me on Monday morning!

Hi, I feel the same way... I know the house will be in caos but, oh well. Let my husband get a taste of taking care of the children. I have been doing that for 6 whole years & Now its his turn to play mom for once. lol... Good luck & keep me posted & I am praying for ya. isabel

Anyone Excited???

I was also excited about having the time off from work. I haven't had any real time away from working since 1996. (when my youngest dd was born!). I have had the yearly vacation and some personal days here and there but that was it.

I have enjoyed my time off and now that I am able to do more it's even better! I love being here for my dd's every day when they get home from school and they love it too!

I dread going back to work, but I must say that I miss my job and being so active. I have never been one to sit and take it easy and that is starting to get the best of me!

I am quite sure that after I am back to work I will be wishing that I had some more time off!! LOL!

Anyone Excited???

I'm excited as well. I just want all this business to be over and get on with my new life.

I can't say that I am looking forward to the rest and relaxation as I have been doing that for so long already.
I am lucky to get two good days in a row and go for the gusto when I have it, and then it is back to my reign on the couch or the bed.

I am so looking forward to getting past recovery and being the whirling dervish I used to be. I know, I am probably in for the shock of a lifetime. Maybe I should settle into the mindset of a spinning top that gets to rest???

Anyone Excited???

I love my work, but the six weeks I took off for my recovery was the first time since high school that I had had an extended period of time all to myself. I used it not only for my physical recovery (which was really relatively easy ~ and I KNOW I was lucky in this regards) but to recharge my mental batteries. The time off did me a world of good. I took up a new hobby (making earrings) and I had a great time. I hope that all of you use the time for yourself because life does not offer us many of these opportunities.

Good luck y'all!

Anyone Excited???

I felt the same way. Like many of you I didn't really do much that I thought I would do while recuperating, like organizing photos and tidying up my recipe box. I did however get to spend lots of time sitting on my brand new deck, reading, napping, listening to my wind chimes and the birds and I had the most awesome tan! I was happy to have a good portion of the summer off and though I was anxious to get back to work it really was only because I missed my co workers.
Wishing you a speedy and relaxing recovery.
