I Give Up and Ready Join You All!

I'm 5 weeks TAH/BSO up to now I have been HRT free. My Dr wanted me to try not starting HRT because I was having so few symptoms. I was only having a few hot flashes for the first 3 weeks. I said okay as long as I could give him a call and he would prescribe HRT over the phone to the pharamacy if it got bad. It was worth a try. WELL NO MORE. I guess my excess estrogen is gone and I'm now on the rollercoaster ride through hell.

The other day I lost count at 18 hotflashes before dinner. I lost track after that. A wave a depression has hit also. As I sit here typing and another hot flash is attacking me. PHEW!!

Well on Wednesday I called my Dr. and what would you know but he wouldn't be back in the office until Monday. I will have to hold out. I feel I gave it good try but it's time to join this little group.

Hi

Sorry you are having so many flashes! You are pretty early post-op, and things can go up and down for awhile, but yes, I'd try to get that rx on Monday and start to get some relief!

I use bi-est .6mg/ml which is a relatively low dose, but I do have my ovaries. It did help with the symptoms I was having tho. (except Insomnia!) I began hrt 7 mos post-op.

Good Luck, and hang in there!!

(((GKnee))), to the Jungle!

I'm sorry you have to wait the extra days, but that gives you some time to explore your options if you haven't already. When you call your doctor on Monday you can have an idea in mind of what you'd like to try.

Have you seen the Hormone Jungle Articles? Articles #10 - 13 outline the various estrogen options. Read through them and decide what you want.

If you have questions, you know where to ask!

Let us know what you decide to try, okay?

Now I'm really confused. I have a pacemaker and heart disease. I had a TVH Nov 30th and kept my ovaries. The doctor told me that someone who has heart disease should not be put on hormones, but since I was keeping my ovaries I wouldn't have to worry about that.

I found this section and I'm reading about women having hot flashes and being put on hormones! I've been having hot flashes, but really thought nothing of it. I'm in the South and it's always hot here, but could it be that just my hormones are going wacky since it's only been 11 days since the surgery?
