The Waiting Is The Worst!!!

Okay, I just got back from my primary care doc. She ran the EKG, and of course while I was laying quietly on the examining table, my heart behaved itself. It was doing all sorts of stunts in the waiting room and after the EKG was over, but during the test itself, it was fine. My doctor ordered blood work, urine tests, chest X-ray, and is sending me to a cardiologist to wear a halter pack to monitor my heart for 24 hours prior to my surgery just to be on the safe side. This will probably be in addition to any pre-op work that my gyno sends me to have done at the hospital. Oh, what fun. In the meantime, my doc said it was okay to start on a small amount of sedative to calm my anxiety for the last week prior to surgery, so maybe that will calm things down. Geez, I agree with all of you that have been through this already - WAITING *****!!
