TVH Scheduled for total uterine prolapse! Thanks to all for advice! Apprehensive!

Thanks to all who shared experiences with me! After checking with 2 doctors I found that one did not do the LAVH and that then that I was not a candidate for the LAVH as my uterus has dropped too far. I do feel that I have fully explored my options. Am scheduled to go for TVH on Monday, Dec. 19th. Decided to wait a week to finish up programs at school and get my "ducks in a row" here at home before the holidays. I'm not really sure what to expect for recovery, etc. Dr. said he wouldn/t know other repairs (bladder, etc.) until he got in there. Thanks again to all who offered advice!

I am delighted with my TVH. I didn't need the repairs you 'll have, but I hope you have the simple and rapid recovery I've had. I'm sure you'll feel much better when it is over.

Hi SPatton

All the waiting and worrying is the worst bit! Although I did have a laparoscopic hyst, I am recovering fine! It certainly feels more comfortable 'down below' now the prolapse has gone!

I am sure you will be fine, just remember to get lots of rest afterwards!

Wishing you well

Hi

I had a TVH with A & P repairs on the 28th November. Everything is going well - still a bit of discomfort in the perineal area but nothing too much. Am back walking fair distances and doing bits around the house.

The whole thing was so much easier than I had anticipated.

Good Luck!!
