Hi, I have been visiting for several months without posting, but now that I am 72 hours away from surgery ( Dec. 16th. I feel a need to communicate. The pre op visit went fine, but I can't sleep or stop thinking about everything.
Having SAH/BSO, fix the bladder and a few other things. Doc says surgery should take 6 hours.
I have been reading "Through the Land of Hister"
It makes me laugh and helps a lot especially the part about freaking out . I am not sure what to do about the sore throat I have had for the last 2 days. My throat is red and I see a white pocket.
Do I need to let the doctor know? Could this stop the surgery? I feel fine otherwise.

About your throat, yes you need to let your doctor know right now, it sounds like strep throat. You will need a antibotic asap!!!! I am not sure if they wil cancel your surgery, it depends on if your infection clears up in enough time (assuming it's strep).
Sorry didn't mean to stress you out more, but call your doctor now!!

Hi Sue!
I think the freaking out part is really normal, from everything I read from the sisters who have already been through the process. I am 8 days away from the castle and I am freaking out as well. It's nice to see a fellow So. Cal princess-in-waiting!!!

I would definitely call you doc if I were you and mention the sore throat and see if that is a concern. I've heard that being ill can be a reason to delay surgery, but your doctor should be the one with the answers.

Welcome ! Please see your doctor about your throat right away! I was on antibiotics before my surgery. I had to cancel the first surgery because I was sick. I had it two weeks later.
I wish you the very best !
