Starbucks Latte post-op???
Coffee sounds like a good idea. I should have used that. It does get me moving also. I just had no appetite for a few days. If you have a TAH, your doc will want to hear your bowels moving before he gives you too much food. So, the day of my operation, I got nothing but ice chips the whole day (I turned them down, why bother). The next day I was on a clear diet. Again, it wasn't too pleasant. But the nurse did bring me some coffee. It stunk too, so I recommend having someone bring you a Starbuck's when you can have it. The next day, I had a semi-clear diet. I was excited!! I got more jello, more juice, and my soup this day? (day before was chicken broth) Mushroom soup with not even one mushroom bit. Ick.
Finally got out after 4 days. But you probably won't have much of an appetite during your stay, so take advantage of the opportunity to lose weight easily. And when you get home, keep in mind that the pain meds can cause constipation, so eat lost of roughage and ask your doc about taking a stool softener.
