adhesions?

Hi Girls
It has been a long time since I have visited. Wow the new site looks great! Anyway, I was hoping somebody could clue me in. I am having pain in my left and right pelvic area kind of where the ovaries are. I had a tvh in feb of 2004 (kept ovaries) Several months after I started getting these pains. Sometimes they are worse than others. It is kind of a pulling/pinching pain. It gets worse if I do a lot of activity or lift anything heavy. When I had the hysterectomy, my doc told me I had endo, but then after she told me she didn't find any! YIKES--but said I had cysts on my uterus. Now she is telling me that it is just ovulation pain, but it shouldn't be there all the time if it is, right? I am on pain meds and this just does not seem right almost two years post-op. I have an appointment with a new doctor next month. I hope he can help.

adhesions?

I think it is a good idea that you have a doctor appointment. It sounds like you need a complete examination - your doctor may also want to do an ultrasound and/or CT scan - if you kept your ovaries there could be a problem in that area. Adhesions typically do not show up on ultrasound, CT scan, x-ray, or MRI - the only way to positively diagnosis them is by laparoscopic surgery.

I had a LAVH in 2002 - I kept both ovaries. I had my right ovary removed last summer due to a complex cyst and adhesions. I had another surgery 10 months ago to remove a right pelvic mass. I am scheduled for more surgery in 3 weeks because I am again having severe pain on the right side. Unfortuantely pelvic pain is sometimes difficult to diagnosis.

Let us know what your new doctor has to say.
