I'm really nervous

Hi there
I know that feeling.
You will be fine though. I would wonder if you weren't a little nervous about this.
Relax...I know, easier said than done...but it really does go smoother if you aren't all tense about it. Ask for something to calm you down as soon as you get admitted. Remember to tell them to freeze your IV site.
Tell the first nurse that you talk to that you are nervous and to please explain each step or procedure they are doing to you.

Take a deep breath. Go have a hot shower/bath and try to relax.

Will watch for your post-op thread.

I'm really nervous

I remember being nervous. But once it is all over you'll be relieved. Just remember what brought you to this decision. I'll say a prayer for you.

See you on the other Side,
Tcake

in There!,
This is the worst part. What I did was go thru the post's on this site to calm me down. There are so many success stories and . Ask when you get in for something for your nerves & the rest will be history. You'll be a b-4 you know it. I'll keep you in my prayers for an uneventful surgery & God's Speed recovery.

See you on the other side-God Bless

I was so nervous,I was reading on Hystersisters all night! I can truly say,in retrospect, the waiting was the very worst part!

I know you will be on your way to the castle soon so I thought I would send a litte comfort your way... I will be 10 mos.post-op on Christmas Day and I feel great! I have not been at HS in a while so I don't know excatly what brought you to this decision but I really hope it will bring you as much relief and healthiness it has brought me!

I wish you all the very best tomorrow and hope you have a great surgery, speedy recovery, and a happy holiday with an even better new year!

I'm really nervous

Mindyangel,
Take a loooonnnggg hot bath and try to relax!!It WILL be over b4 you know it. The worst part for me is the no bath part. Truly, I guess I expected it to be so much worse, but it isn't. I will be 2 weeks tomorrow. I cant wait for a little action and a bath. Hopefully, those will be your only worries when we see you on the other side. Hugs

I'm really nervous

HI! I am 10 weeks post op today ( TAH ) and I feel 100% back to normal! Well no pain or periods!!! I was also very scared before, like most people are! The waiting is the hardest part! Just ask for something to calm and relax you when you get to the hospital! If you are having a TAH ask for a stomach binder when you get up! It was my best friend! Please try to rest tonight, everything will be fine!

Mindy-
I'm so sorry that you are feeling so anxious. There is very little to say that will help, I know. Time seems to be the only real cure, but the suggestions that the other sisters have given you may help. All the best, and I'm sure everything will be fine. Hang in there!

I'm really nervous

Hey! Your having surgery tomorrow so you are allowed to be a wreck. I have had several surgeries. #1: I just figure that I will not sleep the night before because of nerves. What the hey! The next day I am going to spend most of the day asleep so missing 1 night is not a big deal. #2: If I am *****y I figure I have every right to be *****y. I just warn everyone around me and ***** away. #3: When i am nervous I vacuum. Wierd but it works. You will not be vacuuming after your surgery for awhile so here is your chance. I kept everyone up last time I had surgery because I was vacuuming a 4 am. Refer to #1. Hey! its just 1 night they can survive. Remember that at this time tomorrow your surgery will be over and you will be on the road to recovery! I'll be sending good thoughts your way!
