Question about crying and moods (children mentioned)

Hi everyone!!!! I have a question........I have endometriosis, and that is why I am having a TAH, but my question is this..........I am a very emotional person, always way worse when I am on my period, moody, crying at the drop of a hat (heck, I cry watching commercials) my dd knows just to always get mommy kleenex!!!!!! Can I expect this to go on after surgery, or will it get better???? Not that I don't mind being emotional, but when you start crying as soon as the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade comes on, that is getting to be a little embarassing!!!!!! HELP!!!!!

Question about crying and moods (children mentioned)

Hi Barb
You may find that you are even more emotional for the first little while after your surgery.
I blamed it on the narcotics and anaesthetic.

You may have to consider HRT to get those hormones in check too.

Have a happy holiday season and all the best in the new year.

Question about crying and moods (children mentioned)

Hormones sure do seriously mess with us, don't they?

This was my experience: I was put on a Climara Patch before going to recovery. I experienced a different kind of emotionalism that was new to me. I cried during phone commercials ("Can you hear me now")
It lasted a couple of weeks, then it started improving. I don't cycle my HRT, so I don't experience the fluctuations now. I also don't experience the crying for no reason moments any more.

Hope this helps,

Question about crying and moods (children mentioned)

Thanks ladies, at least I know I am not crazy!!!!!!
My husband just shakes his head, he is great about everything and I know it doesn't bother him, because he says that crying is better than having no emotions at all!!!!!
Sometimes I just feel like a total basket case though!!!!!!

Question about crying and moods (children mentioned)

So I have not just become heartless because I don't cry at commercials anymore??? I even laugh at the old Lassie shows instead of welling up. Yay for feeling "normal" whatever that is!

Question about crying and moods (children mentioned)

Has anyone seen the new commercial where the mother is watching her daughter ( who looks like she is in her later teens, early twenties ) making cookies, and she just keeps watching her, and as her daughter is making cookies, she is talking about work, and her mom remembers her making the cookies as a child???????OMG, I cryed!!!!! My husband thought I was nuts!!!!!

Question about crying and moods (children mentioned)

Oh.... I love this site!! It is SOOOOOOO comforting to read all the posts and to know that I am not alone in all of this!! I cry at the drop of a hat too..... for me.... even the Sonic commercials (where the wife is so sarcastic to the husband in the car at Sonic).... even THAT makes me cry!! I cry because the wife is such a snot to her sweet husband & I can't stand when husbands or wives are "sarcastic" and snotty to each other!! So.... crying at a Sonic Fast Food commercial... that's me!! And.... my daughter is currently into the movie "Because of Winn Dixie". We watch it over and over and over each week!! Talk about an open invitation for this mom to have a "cry fest"...... don't EVEN get me started on "Homeward Bound"!! I have to simply leave the room when she sticks that DVD in!! I'm glad to know I'm not the only "crying mom" out there!!

Question about crying and moods (children mentioned)

Another time I couldn't believe I was crying was when my dh and I took my dd to see Disney on Ice.......As soon as all the skaters came out and the music started, I was balling!!!!!! I think a lot of my crying is because I am so excited when I know my daughter is enjoying something, it makes me happy and I cry. One time my daughter (right after 911) got to go visit our local country radio station and the kids all sang "I'm proud to be an American" and they played it while I was at work........balling my eyes out!!!!!!!!! Imagine that!!!!! Like I said, sometimes I don't mind it, it shows I have a heart, I guess, but sometimes it just drives me crazy!!!!!
Thanks for all the response Ladies, and have a great holiday!!!!!!

Question about crying and moods (children mentioned)

I would have definitely been bawling just listening to a group of children singing after 911 !!! THAT would make even husbands cry!!

I just got home from my 3rd grader's Christmas party and assembly a little bit ago. I walked into her school building and instantly heard the entire student body singing Christmas carols in the gymnasium..... I INSTANTLY teared up and started to cry!! It was just so adorable and touching to see all those elementary school children singing their little hearts out and being SO happy today!!

I cry every week during Mass !!! I can definitely relate to the "crying".....
