The Duragesic is working!

Hey girls!
I'm so happy I could do flips, just like that penguin! I'm almost three weeks into my treatment with Duragesic/fentanyl and I'm so pleased with the way I've responded! My side effects are lessening--headaches in the morning, weird dreams every now and then, but that's pretty much it, and it's working so well. I'm just so glad to find something that finally works for me. I'm certainly not advocating that anyone use this medication, so please do not take this post that way.
I just wanted to share through a new thread (because that other one was getting really long) that the treatment is working wonderfully, and after so many years of chronic pain, it's so fulfilling to find something that lets me live a normal, pain-free life.
Just wanted to share!
Love, Christina

The Duragesic is working!

Just curious Christine. What kind of pain/symptoms were you having which required the use of the duragesic patch? Glad to hear it's worked for you!

The Duragesic is working!

I'm with Lauralis in wanting to know what kind of pain. I am in chronic pain due to rheum. and osteoarthritis and mixed connective tissue disease. I don't take pain meds, because of the other drugs I have to take. I need to ask my doc to give me SOMEthing. Anti-inflammatory drugs just don't cut it anymore.

I don't mean to sound defensive but why do you all want to know that? Just to see if you have the same kind of pain?
I'll tell you though, because if I can help, I want to help. Most of it is back pain due to numerous abdominal surgeries that have ruined my support for my spine, pelvic pain due to adhesions, and a general ache through my whole body--especially when I wake up I'm in a lot of pain. Does that help? I'd be glad to answer more specific things if you PM me.
Hope this helps girls.
Love, Christina

I think it is near impossible to compare one's pain to someone elses. We are all so very different, even if we have pain in the same location and similiar symptoms it doesn't mean that we suffer with the same problems. I would urge everyone to talk with your doctor about your pain and symptoms. It can take trial and error with meds to find what is going to work for you.
