Possibly the Best Gift for Christmas & Your NOT a Big Baby

Thinking of you. Perhaps this may turn out to be the best gift that you have been able to give yourself for Christmas? IMHO if I could get my surgery over - I would go for it. Fear, is normal. When it comes to having surgery - so many of us are afraid. I am more afraid of the poor quality of life without a hysterectomy and am saying a special prayer that ALL will go well for you

You can enjoy Christmas Day and then as you get near to the time for surgery - relax and try to "pamper yourself a little". Just think - YOU. will have no more pain, or problems - once the surgery is done...and you, will be in the thoughts and prayers, of so many here.

Did someone say its Christmas?

I love it- the comments about food flying out of the house and all. Same here with 2 teenagers and dh. I thought of something else: put a lot of toilet paper in your bathroom. Silly thought, but I didn't feel like yelling for more if/when I needed it and getting up and going to the toilet can be a day trip (well, not that bad,) you just kind of shuffle there and back and the first couple of weeks things move a little slowly. Someone told me to get some magazines and put them in the bathroom, too, cause you are there for a while each time, lol. I found out more about celebrity breakups than I ever cared to know during the first 2 weeks of recovery. People would ask me, "How ya doin?" and I would think, "well, you know, fine, but let me tell you about Angelina Jolie..." lol lol lol. I made the mistake of watching an Ellen DeGeneres (sp?) comedy dvd the first week out, and I laughed SO hard-man it hurt but it felt good at the same time. Laughter is definitely the best medicine. I got a good laugh too at the thread that talks about what to do with left over pads, etc. It all seems so surreal. Well, as we speak, my dh is ripping out stairs to a loft that will be redone facing another direction-and the teenagers are playing a monster video game; I'm holed up here back in bed, by choice, with hungry Chihuahua's eyeing my plate of Christmas dinner leftovers. Where you live sounds beautiful. I live in the mtns and it's a magical time of year, here, peaceful. I hear dh calling me asking if I want some peppermint tea- hey, I like anything someone else makes!!!
