HELP. 3 days away and terrified!!

Mj
I have a DH that I also have spoiled, what I did was read the articules on this site, printed a few out & took him to my pre-op appt. The Dr. explained most of it to him & my needs afterwards. He wasn't so helpful till my next appt. that's when the Dr. said I have been doing too much, he could tell by my incision. That woke DH up. Keep the pain meds on time. Don't let anything set you back on healing..you have one shot at this.
The waiting is the worst part, prepare..prepare..prepare! Read the checkpoints, prepare a few frozen diners,Tea, get soups & sandwich stuff, spring clean your home.
Things YOU WILL NEED: stool softners, Juices, friut, small pillow for your belly, grabber tool to avoid bending over, Pads, Face wipes, a back pillow for bed, small bottled water, quarts of milk (gallons are too heavy)pants or PJs with the tie waist (get a size larger than you wear) advil reduce's swelling take 3 times a day(ask your Dr.), & heating pad/cold pacs. This website was my best friend pre-op & now post-op. Best of luck to you, Prayers for a sucessfull surgery and recovery .

HELP. 3 days away and terrified!!

The heating pad helped me too immensely. I'd put it on my belly for a while, then on my lower back, then warm my feet and then start the rotation over. Nice to have nearby.

HELP. 3 days away and terrified!!

Hi therre - thanks so much, I love the quote of "you have only one shot at this" (healing). I just finished with some yummy homemade soup for MYSELF - something delicious that hubby can warm up for me and I know whats in it + it's MY comfort food. They're set with meals and clean house -- the waiting IS the hardest part but having all of the sisterly advice on this site has been a godsend.

Hugs to you and all the other kind ladies who shared their jewels of wisdom!!!! XOXOXO

HELP. 3 days away and terrified!!

Positive Thoughts ~ I was a wee bit nervous prior to my surgery as you are. But think of the day when you can begin to live your life again without the pain that inhibit your daily functions. I couldn't be any
happier with my experience ~ and can't hardly wait for spring to get here! I'm so ready to LIVE my life again.... (thank you Jesus)
God Bless
