home after my surgery

I am finally home after 3 long days after my surgery on Tuesday 4/10/01. I had to stay in longer because of throwing up anesthesia and my blood counts being low. I haven't eaten anything for three days and I am not looking forward to the first bm! I ended up having a VAH--keeping my ovaries and only losing the growth on my cervix. All cancer test came back OK. I had a great deal of pain afterwards, but getting up did help me feel better. I was just so sick from the medicine. I have very little bleeding now, but I can tell if I move around too much because I feel sore, did anyone else feel that way? I am a little swelled but I am just taking it easy. Thank you so much for all of your prayers and thoughts, they really did pull me through and now I am a princess!!

So glad to hear that you are home and not sick anymore! What you are feeling is very normal and you will be tired for a while...just rest and take it easy! I will continue to keep you in my prayers for a quick recovery! Congratulations on the test results too!

I hope you are doing much better today. I am very happy to hear your test were negative. I sure hope mine come back that way. They are suppose to be back on mon I think I will wait till thur at apt to find out.
Moving around only made me feel better. My sweet nurse told me the same as the sisters did the more you walk the faster you will feel better. Well no one could keep me in my bed more than an hour at a time. now that i am home i am sleeping 2- 4 hrs at a time. but home i go back to bed if its evening anyway.
continue to get stronger each day.
Happy Easter

Dear Peggy 13
So glad you are home. Feel stronger everyday, I do ... My first BM was not fun--lot's of pain--but I did not push--I got up last night Sat. to check on Easter carrots for the bunny and passed out!! Thank god my DH was right behind me because I was afraid of bleeing from the fall. I've been resting since. The doctor says it's from my low blood count. I'll be thinking of you and hoping that your tests come back like mine. I had severe cervical dysplasia, heavy bleeding, enometrial thickening. They had to cut my cervix a bit. Take care, God Bless, Take it easy. Kelly Z.

Thanks for thinking of me, and i am being pretty optimistic that test will come back neg. But if not it sounds like I will be able to be pretty comfy with what they will do next. And I love the hosp and staff so I look forward to seeing them again LOL
I hope you wont have another episode like that again. I bet you were scared! Thats the nice thing about having someone to be with you. I have no one but my dog at home. Come to think of it my sisters arent even calling me but I have called them at least once a day to let them know I am ok. Life sure does stink being alone though.
I pray you continue to get stronger each day.
Happy Easter

Kelly, I am glad also that DH was there with you. I have been walking too much according to my MD. She told me for the rest of the week to just go to the bathroom and back to lay down. I hope that you do fine. Rest and drink lots of water.

Thanks RCK, I just had a little crying episode because I am not spending Easter with my kids as my hubby is taking them for the day to my in-laws for the big event. I really feel woosy today and I'm going to spend the day in bed, in & out of sleep watching some movies. I hope you are feeling better soon too. Much love,
Sister Kelly
