Very confused.....any answers??

I have a phobia about the vag. hyst thing too, was terrified that was going to be what they wanted to do and had already started calling other surgeons associated with my hospital. In the end I don't have any choice but a TAH because of adhesions. I had a bad experience with cervical displasia removal, bladder damage from difficult birth, and every women I personally knew who had vag. hyst wished they didn't.
I see in here that a lot of women were very satisfied and had no complications, so I'm sure you will get through it.
Have you discussed your concerns with your doc??? Mine was great when I told her how I did not want it even before we knew it wasn't an option.
Even if your husband isn't the emotionaly adverse person we all wish they were, tell him you need to talk it out with him, tell him all your fears and concerns. Even if he doesn't respond right away, you need to say it and he will hear you.
Your kids are going to be okay too. A very brief explanation a few days before surger, and a reminder of how you are feeling and that you can't do everything for them for awhile when you get home will help them understand mom needs time to get better. Please take care of yourself, the horror stories of women who do too much to soon should scare you enough to sit on the couch and rest.
Please keep reading all the posts, it will help soooo much.
peace and health to you,

The tvh IS less invasive for your body. There are NO abdominal incisions at all that would have to heal. I was "dancing" the next day. At one week post-op people could not believe I just had surgery. My recovery has been remarkable, other than a UTI but that's common. I'm 3 weeks post-op now, absolutely NO pain or cramping at all, I could go jogging! That's only MY experience, good luck with yours.
