Now here's a question!

Happy New Year Everyone!
I am on hormone implants to shrink a large fibroid prior to surgery, and the side effect is to put me into a temporary menopause. I'm trying to look on the positive side of it all and so I want to know, does anyone know approx how many calories are burned up in a hot flash? There's got to be a good side to all this hasn't there?!

Now here's a question!

Hi! to Hyster Sisters!

That's a good question! I ran it through Google and came up with this link:

http://www.drdonnica.com/faqs/00006546.htm

It looks like hot flashes aren't going to be the answer to weight loss.

Best wishes for your upcoming surgery!

Now here's a question!

Yeah, this is the same myth that leads people to jog in the mid-day sun, thinking that if they are hotter, they will lose weight faster.

This is the science we need to remember... burning calories produces heat, but heat does not burn calories.

Now here's a question!

Oh Phooey!! Will I lose some weight having the actual op?? Perhaps they can take some more things out at the same time. How much does an appendix weigh?! Thank you for the good wishes.

Now here's a question!

Hi Tabasco,

I was wondering the same thing when I was on lupron before my hyst. Lots of
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did lose weight while on lupron but I guess it was eating less and exercising more. Dang...I hate when those things get in the way of a sure thing!!

Best wishes,

Mary
