Allergies and post-op ......

I am sitting here with you wonderful sisters and sneezing constantly from allergies. What happens after surgery? I will be having a TAH and I can just imagine my belly splitting open and sending staples flying across the room from one of these sneezing fits!

Anyone have any ideas that worked for them?

I would definately speak tp your Dr., I have a chronic cough from allergies.. thought I would faint from pain. It's not good for the bearing down on fresh incision either, it pulls. I'm sure they could give you something for your allergies to minimize this. Good luck & best wishes for a speedy recovery.

God Bless

((( Pink Princess )))
I would talk with your dr about it. Sneezing, coughing or laughing all hurt when I was a new post op princess after my tah/bso. Holding a pillow against my tummy helped a lot.

Best wishes.

Thanks for your replies!

A tummy pillow is on my list of things to bring to the castle. What would my dr give me for allergies? I feel like I am already going to be on so many drugs!! I guess it would be better than the pain though....

I don't like this wait - I keep finding new things to worry about!

Your doc could prescribe something like flonase or flovent. These are nasal spray drugs that work like crazy for the sneazes, itchy nose/throat allergy reactions. I have used these for years and remain symptom free even during the hayfever season in the spring! Check it out.
