Getting sick and surgery is tomorrow

I caught a head cold friday I get better one minute then dont feel so hot the next. The anesthesioligist called this morning and said that unless I had a fever or chest congestion it should be ok but I should call doctor first thing in the morning to let her know.

Getting sick and surgery is tomorrow

I say, better to be safe then sorry. I had to cancel my first TVH on 11/3/05 because I had a nasty head cold. I did it on my own. I had my surgery 2 weeks later and all went very well. You have to use your own judgement. You know your body !

Best wishes hon, I hope you are better soon !

Thanks for all the kind replies. I feel better this morning but still not well. I still have a sore throat and my legs are achey. Im really thirsty but cant drink anything in case I do go through with this surgery. Last night I slept for like 15 minutes then would wake up, lay there for 20 then sleep for 15. I hardly got any sleep . Im wondering if the stomach problems is nerves and the past few days of being upset and scared just built up? My temp was 99.2 last night and this morning its 98.7. I was hoping maybe they would give me something for this nauseousness that I still have a little and something for this throat . I will be calling pre-op in a little bit when they get in to work.

Well just got off the phone with the doctor. She said she isnt worried about the nauseousness but she said the sore throat is bad. She is afraid that when they put the tube down for anethesia it will cause me more problems with my throat since its so inflammed . I just hope I dont have to wait a long time for a reschedule. It's going to set everything back so much.
