question regarding discharge

Good morning Ladies!!!!
I have an embarassing question: I know we talk on this site about the bleeding after surgery, but what about regular discharge?? I have always had to wear pads since the 7th grade (all the time) for vaginal discharge and all my doc's have said that some woman just have more than others do........Will this go away with a TAH or will I still be wearing mini pads for the rest of my life?? Ever since I had my dd 8 years ago, I have had it so bad, I wear a full size bad every day of my life!!!! Thanks for any input!!!! Love you guys!!!!!!

question regarding discharge

Hi Barb,

I see that you are also having your ovaries removed. If the discharge is excess lubrication, which is caused by estrogen, then it should make a difference. You may be able to adjust your HRT to find a better balance. I know I did, but I had just the opposite problem.

S,
Kay

I had that same problem though it got much worse after my children were born and was some of the reason my GP and I tried everything before the hyst. Bothersome alright!!! I am doing great at five weeks today, NOTHING since just before week four and I am seeing my surgeon tomorrow, GP was today and path report came back all clear! YEAHH>>> so i had a enlarged uterous, excessive bleeding, excessive discharge but nothing from infections or anything like that...all gone, keep hoping it will continue... Good luck

I thought I had it bad, needing a pad for 9 years! I would say that if you have no uterus and no cervix, how could there be a discharge? You should be dry after the discharge from the surgery stops. THAT could take awhile, but it's temporary. The only other thing it could be is urine. That's what I had, now that my uterus is not squishing all my inards, THAT problem is gone for me! Thank the good Lord! Good luck.

question regarding discharge

Thanks Meatball........I thought that too (urine) Being that I have a pad on, sometimes it is hard to say if it is urine, or just female discharge (yuck)......and sometimes I still woner which it is.......but I guess we will know for sure after recovery!!!
Thanks for the input!!!!

question regarding discharge

I usually have to wear a pad 2 weeks of every month. I had my surgery (TAH/BSO) last week. Before the surgery, I had a smelly discharge and when I wasn't having a discharge, it still smelled down there. I had bleeding for about 2 1/2 days after surgery and ever since then nothing. Everyone is different though. I imagine that if you remove the thing that's causing the discharge, that the discharge will go away.

Good luck to you.
