10 days til "H" day

My doctor says my surgery is going to be done as outpatient, but I would feel more comfortable staying a night or 2 in the hospital if possible. Tomorrow is my pre op visit, was wondering if I ask the Dr. to stay in the hospital if he might agree with me. I have high blood pressure, and I have been extremelly nervous. I just think I would feel more comfortable in the hospital for a day or so. I am having my uterus removed due to fibroids, and pain. He is going in through the belly button. Any advice on this question?

I would ask , especially if you feel nervous. Explain your reasons, your dr is probably used to people wanting as little hospital time as possible

Best wishes.

You are having the LAVH? With that I stayed in the hospital 2 nights. My blood pressure was very, very low, and had the nurses concerned. I am sure if your blood pressure is so high, they would want to moniter that closely also.

Be sure to ask! Good luck on your surgery.

I had a LSH and it was done outpatient. My surgery started at 7:00am and I left the center around 6:30pm easily. If this is the surgery that you are having maybe there will not be a problem. Talk to your dr. about your all of your concerns. Good luck.

Ask your dr. if you can stay at least one night. I would want to be monitored for at least that long after major surgery! I am having a tvh and am booked to stay in for 3 nights I am told.
