Weight Gain for afterwards?

Hi
I have also been thinking like you. So much so that I have a plan to make and then freeze various soups before I go for my op.
Good luck, I will keep an eye out for your followup story.

Weight Gain for afterwards?

geoD,

I see where you said your thyroid is non function. Did they want to remove it? Mine was removed, and i was put on sinthroid. My blood work has stayed the same since my hyst. They say this can make it go crazy at times. Mine hasn't.... I guess I'm just surprised yours wasn't removed.

Weight Gain for afterwards?

Carol, I am to have a LAVH 1st March and my doctor seems to think that the healing time and pain management is much easier than with other procedures. What do you think? He seems to say I will be playing golf in about 4 weeks??????

Weight Gain for afterwards?

I had TAH BSO. I have lost 6 lbs since coming home from the castle, after being there 6 days. My appetite is not the same, much smaller.I cannot stand the thought of coffee or alcohol , and I drank both before the surgery. My craving for sweets is not there either, but it didn't help when my work place sent a big box of chocolates to me.I would eat 2 a day out of it and my DH helped finish the rest. Everyone is different though. Concentrate on eating healthy and you don't have anything to worry about.Cath

Weight Gain for afterwards?

Karole- I think the only reason they may not have taken my thyroid is that I have different drs. for different things!! My general practitioner is keeping track of my thyroid while my ob/gyn did my surgery. My ob/gyn was aware of my thyroid but didn't really seem too interested in it. My g.p. is still trying to kick start my thyroid with meds. I'm on thyroxin. I had blood work last week so it will be interesting to see if my surgery affected it. My mom had to have hers removed at about my age. I hope I don't have to go in for another surgery later.

Weight Gain for afterwards?

I am a february princess and I am worried about gaining weight . I am going to walk as soon as I am up to it. You only have one time to heal so let it happen. untill then I am going to drink as much green tea as possible. I also read that chai tea, yerba mate tea, and white tea are good for losing weight. try cutting your calories in 1/2 I know it is easy to say but hard to do I will try if you do.
good luck everyone I will pray for all you jan princesses

loislane there is a post in the pre op forum called jargon and one of the hostesses has given a link for all the abbreviations take a look if you can. I can tell you that a tah is a total abdominal hysterectomy, an lavh is a laproscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy, and bso I know what it is and cant remember what the b stands for It is basically the removal of the ovaries Hope this helps
lots of luck . Im sending you hugs
