Anyone have a TAH/BSO for adenomyosis?

I am 41 and have adenomyosis, some adhesions, and a severely retroflexed uterus. I have had chronic pelvic pain for 6+ years. My worst pain is the 5 days prior to ovulation. I am scheduled for a TAH/BSO 2/23, and I can't wait! I am ready for some relief. I would love some info from others that have had a hyst for the same symptoms. Especially since this is a bad pain day. Thanks!

Anyone have a TAH/BSO for adenomyosis?

Hi Shatzie,
I had the adeno, adhesions & fibroids - and lots of pain! The good part is that although there was surgical pain, there was no more pain from the previous problems - and I could tell the difference. It was so worth having done!!!!

Retroflexed uterus

My uterus is tipped back (instead of tilted forward which is normal), extremely far, pressing on my rectum. It also has a kink or bend in it. That's what makes it retroflexed (as I understand it). If it is just tipped back, it is retroverted.

Anyone have a TAH/BSO for adenomyosis?

I wish I could help, but I am still too early post-op too feel good. I did have Adeno, which i still don't clearly understand, I found out after surgery I had that.
I turned 44 just after my Op. I had pelvic and low-back, rectal pain and bowel problems with ovulation and menstration. I had endo, and an ovarian cyst. The pain got so bad before ovulation and period that I had the surgery. I just don't know yet, i am still recovering but can let you know later down the road...
