Fly to Vegas 3 wks post-op ??

Glad to hear you did well on the trip. My husband wants to take me on a "recovery cruise" the 5th week post-op. I think a week in the Caribbean booked in a cabin with a balcony sounds wonderful. I've been hesitating to book it wondering how I will feel. If you don't mind me asking, I was wondering how old you are? I'm 50, not terribly out of shape, and I know sometimes recovery depends on age and how physically fit you are before going in for surgery.

we went from orlando to chicago when I was a little over 3 weeks out. I walked through both airports but did pre-board the plane ( southwest) we had an awesome trip up there and stayed 5 days i was tired when i got back but it was worth it. Everyone is different. Since my surgery 4 months ago yesterday I have been on three trips and its wonderful not having to plan around aunt flo which I used to have to do! The only thing I had to cancel was a dentist appointment a week after surgery I was not up to that, so I go this morning Godspeed on your surgery....Hugs....Mary

Of course everyone heals different, and its impossible to say how you will feel at three weeks, for me I in general felt very weak, but did have some good days. If you have already spoken with Dr about it and he says its okay I would probably go ahead and plan it.
Keep in mind though that your talking Vegas in March. Its always hopping in Vegas, but especially in March. (MarchMaddness)
If you do go make sure you have a wheel chair at the airports, and the hotels. I would call the hotel you will be staying at and ask them if they have one you could use for the weekend. I'm not saying spend the whole weekend in it but make sure it is there when you need it. Walking is great for you, but getting runover is not.
I'm a Vegas junkie and I probably wouldn't have passed up on a trip there even if I was only a week out. Just make sure you take lots of breaks, and have DH around 24/7 to take care of you. Good Luck!
