Arranging my Internal Furniture!

Hello sisters,

One of the questions I have for my dr. at our pre-op on 1/25, is how does she know that all my internal "stuff" is in its proper place? Don't remember if I read or heard about women who have problems post-op with their organs not being supported properly. There is some sort of pelvic floor reconstruction that can be done...is this something that is normally a part of a TAH? Having such an enlarged uterus due to fibroids (like a 6-mo. pregnancy) one of my biggest concerns is that everything be supported properly and not be loose in there. After all, there's a big chunk of my tissue coming out and creating extra room, not to mention that I won't have much supporting my "floor" once my cervix is gone. Do any of you girls know about how Ob's go about insuring that everything is in it's proper place in there, so nothing falls aside?

Looking forward to hearing from y'all.

Arranging my Internal Furniture!

Hi Mar,
I had that same question. Click here for a web site that describes the process. I got a copy of my surgical report and my DR did exactly what this site describes. While every woman is different, talk to your doctor prior to the surgery to find out how he typically performs the surgery. If he blows off your concerns, you may want to seek a second opinion. I hope your surgery and recovery go well.

Cool site Ashley.

I have the same thoughts - How does that void get filled and everything readjusted? Thanks for asking the question. Helped to see Ashely's site.

Good luck - I get to go ahead of you on the 19th!
