Lower Back Pain

Hi Ladies,

I am leaving for the castle dark and early in the morning 5 a.m. and having a TVH, posterior repair, possible bladder tack, possible ovaries and tubes removal and definite bladder sling done.

I have been having pain in my lower back. It use to just get worse during my monthly but its there all the time now. I haven't stopped bleeding or spotting since my D&C back in Sept.

My question is if anyone else has had back pain that has been corrected by getting a hysterectomy done and getting things back into proper place.

Lower Back Pain

I suffered from low back pain for years before my hysterectomy, and apparently a great deal of my back pain was originating in my uterus, because now that it is gone, the back pain had improved dramatically.

Obviously, I can't say the same will happen for you, but yes, it does happen.

Lower Back Pain

I am 4 weeks post-op. I had horrble back back and side pain due to a very large fibriod. I have neither pain pain now. The fibriod was putting so much pressure on my bladder. I could not empty my bladder.
Now it is so much better. I had the bladder tuck and all is well!!! Good Luck!!! Keep me posted!!!

Lower Back Pain

Oh, it gets so much better. My back pain seemed to be worse around my cycle but I had some pain all of the time. I was beginnig to get depressed because the pain kept me form doing much of anything that I normally love to do like gardening and even cleaning. Since my surgery on 12/2, I have had very little of that pain. I have some right now but it's different and not nearly as bad. Just annoying. Pre-surgery, I was constantly in the bathroom, at least ten times a day. I could never completely empty my bladder so I went often. Now, I actually had to ask my doc what was normal because it's more like 3-4 times in twenty four hours and I naver have to get up at night.I hope this helps your pain like it did mine. Good Luck and

Lower Back Pain

I also continued bleeding after my D-n-C, right into OR for my hyst! Not fun! And I have always add lower back aches with my cycle, and since I still have my ovaries, I continue to have the lower back aches. However, mine have never been excruciating.

Best wishes to you for your surgery tomorrow!

Lower Back Pain

Thanks gals so much for your input. It sounds like there may be hope. I did have a back X-Ray done a few months ago and it showed DDD but the ultra sounds also showed normal bladder position which is all subject to interpretation of the reader since it is not in its normal position. I am just hoping that since the back started constant pain at the same time of my irregular and heavy bleeding along with the bladder problem that it is intercorrelated.

Would that be too much to ask for?

Lower Back Pain

I had severe back aches... I needed to put pillows between my knees at night and I was constantly flipping from side to side in bed. Since my surgery, my doctor said it might help, I've slept through the night with out pillows stuck between my knees!!!... Best of Luck to you.

Lower Back Pain

I have had terrible back pain for the last two years due to large fibroids. The first thing I noticed in recovery is while my abdomin hurt like heck, my back did not! I am almost three weeks post op and still no back pain. I hope your's is just as successful!

Lower Back Pain

Well I am home from the castle and my fingers are crossed about the back pain. It really still hurt the first 2 nights but the last 3 nights has gotten so much better. I had a really bad prolapse grade 2 and the doctor said it really could have been pushing on the back. I haven't been without back pain for awhile so I almost feel like crying tears of joy not to feel it.

I too have had the terrible back pain with periods (week before and week of). It is awful. Anyone else have the pain in their backs as well as in the tops of their thighs???? I am still in the early decision phase for the hysterectomy. (I HAVE to have the rectocele repaired just not sure about the hyst). thanks! Raymo
