What to Wear Home from the Hospital?
Hi All,
Am new here, and have a TAH scheduled for this Friday morning, so I don't have time to read everything I want to from this newly-found wonderful site.
What should I bring to wear home from the hospital?
Will I be able to sit in the car and put on a seatbelt?

I haven't gone yet, but from what I have read here, loose pants and bigger underwear......also, take a pillow to put between you and the seat belt!!!!! Best wishes to you, my TAH is the day before yours!!!!

You need to have loose fitting pants, or pajama bottoms. I sat in the car just fine, just didn't let the seatbelt touch my belly. Good luck on your surgery.

trip home from the castle
I showered and put on p.j.'s for the ride home, with slippers. It was a 45 minute ride in our SUV which wasn't comfortable. I was able to use a seatbelt. I placed it up above the incision and did ok. For the follow-up visit we borrowed my mom' s Lincoln and the ride was smooth.
I Wish you the very best and a speedy recovery.

What to Wear Home from the Hospital?
Hi, Best wishes! I am having my surgery on January 23rd and I am planning on wearing home the sweat pants I wore to the hospital that day. Alot of the sisters wear P.j. pants home too. I think whatever you wear should be oversized and comfy. Take good care and I hope this helps! Melanie

Under the Ohhhh or Murphy's Law category, I read somewhere on this site that you shouldn't sit in the front seat if your vehicle has dual air bags....
I also read that you should ware what you are going to bed in, why change when you get home.
Good luck and happy home coming!
Love this site!

What to Wear Home from the Hospital?
I wore loose drawstring yoga pants. The had no elastic in the waist. The seatbelt was not too terrible, but if I had a pillow to cover my hortizontal incision I would have been happier. I could not wear pj's until the second week, I opted for a knee length nightgown with sleeves. I live in snow country.
Good luck with your surgery. Everyday gets better!!

What to Wear Home from the Hospital?
I am planning on wearing track pants, 2 sizes larger underwear, and a long sleeve t-shirt to the hospital and then home. I will be wearing their lovely garb while there
Oh, and don't forget your chapstick
Good luck Friday.

What to Wear Home from the Hospital?
Hello all. I actually wore jammy bottoms and a sweater and then because it was a little chilly here I also wore my housecoat. Then on my feet I wore my slippers. I have to say looking back I must have looked funny but I really did not care. As long as I was comfortable. I hope that that helps.

Since I was a "winter princess" I went with sweatpants and a sweater (and some nice cotton undies 1 size larger than normal).
