What to Wear Home from the Hospital?

trentslori:
I had my TAH last wednesday and I actually wore to the hospital what I had planned on wearing home. I wore a comfy pair of drawstring lounging pants and an oversized nightshirt. At 745am, I didn't care who seen me! You will have "swelly belly" so make sure your pants are loose. As far as the seatbelt, I didn't even attempt to put that on!

What to Wear Home from the Hospital?

I wore an oversize jumper and a t-shirt. I didn't have a pillow for the seatbelt, but it didn't bother me.

Here's a tip. Try to have your prescription medication picked up before you leave the hospital. I sat in the car and waited for my husband to fill my prescriptions. The pharmacist rushed the order since I was in the car, but if you can have your meds filled sooner, do so.

Hope all goes well for everyone having surgery soon.

What to Wear Home from the Hospital?

My surgery was in late August so I wore a gown, a larger size undies, and a housecoat with bedroom shoes home. I purchased a travel size pillow and it was easy to buckle the seatbelt over it and am I glad. Roads that I travel everyday were had a lot more bumps that day than they do today (LOL). My husband went to the drive up window at our drugstore and dropped my prescription off. He brought me home and went back for the meds. Don't think I could have waited in the car...all I wanted was a nap in my own bed.

Good luck to you and I wish for you a speedy, uneventful recovery.

What to Wear Home from the Hospital?

Hi!
I wore drawstring sweatpants to the hospital and wore them home. As for the car ride and seatbelt, have a small pillow to put between you and the seatbelt. I only live 10 minutes away from the hospital and it was the most uncomfortable ride in a car. Comfort is key!
All the Best,

What to Wear Home from the Hospital?

My plan is to wear the same sweat pants and t-shirt home that I'm going to wear to the hospital on Friday! I'll put on a big ole warm jacket and boots too. I'm only about 10 minutes from home, so the seatbelt shouldn't be a problem. I am starting to get a bit nervous though. Plenty of things to get done as well.

IMHO Irish has the best advice and it's also what I did. Forget about anything with any kind of elastic - it can feel like a tourniquet within minutes!!

Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and smooth recovery.

What to Wear Home from the Hospital?

I have a really nice pair of maternity pants that I am going to wear because the stomach will go above the belly button in case they decide to go abdominally. I have read people also say to wear loose fitting clothes You should also read the posts about what to bring Good luck

What to Wear Home from the Hospital?

I wore a loose fitting t-shirt-like material night gown home from the hospital with my slip-on sneakers without underwear. My catheter came home with me because my bladder was nicked during surgery. I didn't feel like bothering with underwear. I had two tummy pillows: one for under the seatbelt and one for over the seatbelt for extra protection from the bumps. I found that lifting my knees up helped protect me from the bumps in the road and turns. I wore a long coat over my elegant attire since it was cool fall weather.

Best wishes and 's

What to Wear Home from the Hospital?

I wore my nightie and dressing gown as I only lived 10 minutes away from the hospital and couldn't see the point in changing again when I got home. Worked great for me. Definitely remember to put a small soft pillow in the car to put between you and the seatbelt on the drive home. Good luck!
