Anyone else having surgery for fibroids causing indigestion & bloating?

Hi there!

I had fibroids, too, and although I didn't have symptoms of indigestion and bloating, I've read lots of posts on the message boards here to conclude it's not uncommon at all.

If you are interested in who else shares your surgery date, click on the word Calendar from the lavender column at the left side of this page.

Many s and Best Wishes,

Hey Brenrick,
We have the same date and symptoms, even those pesky fibroids. I had the usual symptoms, but was shocked when I got the report mid December about the size of the thing; 4.5 month pregnancy. Don't know about you, but I plotted all trips around the nearest ladies room. My doctor stated that the size of the fibroid was putting pressure on bowls and bladder. My bloating is from the size of the fibroid, do you know how large yours is?

I guess the good news is that this will be over soon.
Looking forward to recovery!

Indigestion & bloating were a part of my fibroid experience as well as incontinence from them pushing on my bladder. I also became less & less limber as I could not move & twist as I could before. One side of my abdomen pooched out more than the other.

On occasion I had both symptoms though seperately. Seems likely that the fibroids have some part in our discomfort. I've been lucky not to have to deal with constipation or incontinance but trying to bend to tie my skates or pick up my cat is a bit of a pain because I lose flexibility when I'm bloated.

Girls, I just wanted to send you some encouraging things to think about. I too had fibroids and the mass of them was the size of my head. Those were the doctors words. I lived with them for years and the fear of surgery kept me from doing it sooner. I did learn the waiting was the worst part and I am so glad I had it done. Yes, recovery get long and boring and you might get discouraged here and there, but it is so wonderful having those awful things out! Let me tell you I am saving so much money on toilet paper alone! I would go to the bathroom constantly. Now, I have to remind myself to go! Even though you are scared, you all have so much to look forward to. New bodies that are fibriod free! I wish you many blessing and a good recovery!
