Pre-op's done and I'm ready

Ready as I will ever be anyway

I was very lucky and the nurse called me at home and said we can do this over the phone as the doc does not need blood or a bowel prep done She was rgeat and explained some things to me and answered some questions I had. Made sure I knew where to go etc etc. I will have a Foley cath. I guess that's pretty standard. She said that they will release me based on how I am doing. Using the bathroom, not vomiting, can walk around that sort of thing. She did say I could put on a niccotine patch in the morning and if the anestegeologist wanted to take it off he/she would.
She explained about the leg things that inflate/deflate and told me about the pain pump but she said she was not positive I would have one. I should of asked about the rooms ( dang it ) Maybe I will luck out and get a private one. She was really great and it put my mind at ease.
I did start packing a few things and I will finish that up tomorrow. Best wishes for all the "Ladies in waiting"

I got my pre-ops done today, too, and I am having my procedure done in the morning. I am thrilled to get this done and get my problems resolved and never have another period, but now that d-day is a few hours away, I'm so nervous that I'm nauseous.

I feel like there is just no way to totally get everything ready. No matter how much housework I do, it will get out of control. No matter how carefully I plan, if someone flakes on me, I can't do much about it. I feel really overwhelmed.

Well, in a little over 15 hours it won't matter if every last thing didn't get done.

Oh Freemesoon , I know JUST how you feel. I have been cleaning as much as I can for DH and DD and I know I am not going to get everything done that I want to. They will survive. DH goes out of town on the 24th so that gives me a bit of time to recover. Really we can't do much about it so I am doing the best I can to "turn it over" Nothing is going to fall apart and the ceiling wont cave in. That is just how I have to look at it. How about a nice long hot soak in the tub ? Yes, you have time (grin) I plan on doing this tomorrow night. Don't forget some smelly candles and bubbles. It's going to be okay and just think of how much better we are going to feel.

You do know how I feel. :0 I am telling myself that I have no business being on this message board right now, for one thing! because there's so much that I could be doing to get ready. But, you're right, the ceiling won't cave in and whatever will be will be. I'm just nervous.

Good luck - both of you! I am getting soooo nervous! My heart jumps when I read your messages about heading out - mine's coming up too slow and too fast - ya know!?!?

You'll be amazed at how well you feel. I couldn't believe what I was putting up with. Now that "its" gone, I feel great.
