WOE IS ME!!Surgery date change at LAST MInute!

Oh why oh why oh why? oh dear sisters, just when i had a bit of courage to face this, the day before(!) they change it! This doctor of mine is inconciderate to the max, I have been seeing him for 3 months and he doesn't even look at my exam results untll the last minute(plus he can't even remember my name!)So he now wants another colonoscopy....I have had to clean my colon 3 times in 2 weeks now!! They have pushed surgery up to the 20th Jan.Also I won't have the post op care I had arranged(as friend will be out of town). Does anyone know how long it takes for a cervical 1b1 to progress futher? I'm getting worried, as i had my 2nd laser cone in Nov.(results invasive) and its already 2 months now. Is this normal to wait so long, or is it just negligence? lonely and sad in Italy,
xxxooo peace love and light to all

WOE IS ME!!Surgery date change at LAST MInute!

Hello from the UK!
Well, I do not know anything about the medical things you are going through, especially in Italy.
However, I'm originally from the USA, now living in the UK, and yesterday I had my surgery cancelled, for the 2nd time, while in the hospital, and 20 minutes before my surgery time!!

I've been in constant pain since LAST January, waiting for this particular surgery since this past August, had a previous surgery cancelled once...and now here I am...

So, I'm completely blown away, very, very frustrated, tired and in alot of pain, out of work due to this condition and just want you to know that you are NOT the only one who is going through this ridiculous situation...

You are not alone!

There is always a reason for stuff happening...we just can't let it get the better of us; yes...it's normal to be 'fed up' and emotionally drained and tired...but, you (and I) must continue on...

I don't know if you believe in the power of prayer, but it works!
God is real, He does care, and He does listen!
But, He also has His own timetable too...

I don't know if this makes any sense to you or not, but just felt like letting you know that you're not alone, OK?
Hang in there...step by step...you will get through all of this!!

I feel your pain - the same thing happened to me, only I was already hooked up to the IV and waiting to go into the OR when they canceled because the anesthesiologist didn't like my EKG report. Had to be cleared by a cardiologist first, now I'm rescheduled for Jan 26. The technician at the cardiologist's said this happens a lot. Hang in there, you will have a little more peace of mind knowing there is nothing else wrong, as I do now. It sure is hard, though.

WOE IS ME!!Surgery date change at LAST MInute!

Hey there!
Thanks for that, but I've got some good news to share!

Just a little while ago, the hospital called re: rescheduling my surgery, and...they've actually had a cancellation (it's rare over here, in the Uk, for a patient to cancel a surgery), and I'm back in the hospital tomorrow,(Thursday) with my op now on for Friday!
What a world, eh???

Yeah, hanging in there is the only option, but there is always a reason, isn't there?

Have a great weekend

I agree with all of our dear sisters that things do happen for a reason, and Amen to God being on His own time table!

But I just wanted to add that none of that precludes you from complaing to the patient's advocate department of your hospital or wherever that inconsiderate doctor works. After 3 months he should at least know your name, or have the common sense to read it off the chart before he enters the room

I don't like that you, my dear hyster sister, have had to go through this! I can relate to having to have something like this done abroad. I'm up in Germany and it does add one more thing to an already difficult situation.

Don't be lonely...we are here for you, and you will get through this. You will have a great story to tell in the Post-op chats
