Terrified! Fibroid!

Thanks for your input Sam Bean Hmm...I had pre cancerous lesions on my cervix so maybe that is why the Dr. didn't recommend those shots to me. I don't know if they raise your risk for any cancers, I'm just guessing. I'm still very scared but starting to feel at peace with this. This site has helped me a lot!

Terrified! Fibroid!

The only other surgery I ever had was an emergency apendectomy, and I was extremely ill and in pain for weeks afterward. So when my doctor told me I needed a TAH because I had two large fibroids, I was extremely unhappy. And like most here, mine grew very fast, from nothing to baseballs in less than a year!

So I had it done. And you want to know something? I breezed through the surgery, threw the meds away a few days after I got home, and enjoyed my six weeks off tremendously. It's been nearly a year and I have no regrets.

But do get two opinions - or more if you think they will help. Good luck!

Wow Dl!
So nice to hear such a success story!! You give me hope! I am LOVING the idea of no more periods ever! No more birthcontrol, cramps, leaks all the ucky things associated with the uterus. I'm trying to focus on the positive. You know what? I always seemed to start my period when we're on vacation! No more of that either. YEAH!

Just think kiddo - WHITE SLACKS! Or a nice WHITE linen outfit for spring. And you never have to worry about "ahem" again!

People talk about hormonal changes during menapause - BUT if you can survive the PMS crazies for years, you can survive a few years of the menapause crazies!

Write me if you want to/need to.
