My final period. Period.
I'm so glad to have this site. Thank you to all who keep it going.
I just started my final period. It may sound silly, but I'm actually almost giddy. I can't believe this is the last time I'll have to mess with all this . . . well, mess.
I'm scheduled for a TAH on Monday, February 20. I have several small fibroids and one large one. As a matter of fact, everyone in the doctor's office kept referring to it as HUGE! I really haven't had anything I recognized as symptoms, but I'm sure I'll notice a big difference once it's over.
Thanks to all of you, I have a plan and I've had plenty to keep my mind occupied as I get closer and closer to my surgery date. I know I'll be nervous the last day or two, but I also know that's normal and, again, thanks to you, I have some coping strategies in place.

Free at last?
It really dose make you think. My surgery is on Feb 8th and I just finished my last period on Sunday. It is hard to believe that it will be really over soon. I wish you the best of luck on your surgery.

last one!!!
I also just had my last period. I was overjoyed at the very thought that after 33 years (I was 13 when I started) it will over in 4 more days. No more mess, gawd I hate the mess.
I am still calm, still worry free about the surgery. I am simply looking forward to being on the better side and not having to deal with it anymore. For the rest of what I hope will be a long and happy period free life. Woo hoo!!!!!!

My final period. Period.
I am due to start my last period on the 4th but I know how it has been for a long time and it will be early. I am so looking forward to it coming and going for the last time. The pain is so bad and I have to take so much meds just to get the pain under control and keep it there that the meds make me sick. But if I don't take all the pain meds then I end up in the ER for some really nasty narcotics which they end up giving me anti nausea meds to keep from them making me deathly ill.

My final period. Period.
It's a great feeling isn't it?
Handed over all my tampons etc to my DD.
Remember you may need pads or panty liners after surgery so don't clear out too soon
Good luck

Glad to know I'm not too wierd. I know I plan to keep a selection of supplies for post-op. The rest I intent to put in our "things our guests forgot to bring" cupboard.

I had to smile when I read your post. I remember being the same way.
Now ... almost 2 years later I rarely even think about them. Who would have thought that something so much a part of my life would be relegated to "oh, yeah, I forgot about those."
I can't tell you how good it feels to see a tampon comercial or hear someone moaning about pms and not even have to dread the next visit!
I'm celebrating with you!

My final period. Period.
Crud! I finished Sunday and since mine range from 14-21 days apart, I can almost guarantee that I will get one more - maybe even right up to surgery time. But oh well! IT will be the last one!! WOOHOO! My DD is just 6, but I like the idea of including the leftovers in a basket for things your overnight guests might forget. But I am SO excited at the concept of a summer without periods - YIPPEE!!!! No sitting by the pool while the kids are swimming!!!! No more having to reschedule a date at the water park because Mommy can't go!!!! No more sitting beside the lake or on the boat while my family has all the fun at family reunions!!!! This is going to be my best summer ever!!!!!
Standing up and dancing in a circle!!!!
