My Doctor just removed my staples yesterday. Not bad at all. He said he left the cervix and that I might still have bleeding? Has anyone else been told this? Also he said he doesnt need to see me again for a year. Does this seem normal. Everyone else here has post op exams, he says not for a year, not one post op! Please let me know what your doctors have scheduled for you, when do you get examined internally? Oh well, thank you all.

WOW! One year! That really does seem like a long time. I was worried because I have only 1 post-op scheduled at just over 4wks. I have seen on here that some have a couple of post-ops. Like 2wks then 4 wks/6wks. I would not feel comfortable not seeing my dr until 1 year. You could call and get in sooner right? I would.

A year does seem odd to me. I had several post op checkups. My first was to remove the staples. The second was a week later, just a general checking to adjust hrt , ask how everything was doing etc. Then at 6 weeks, he did the internal exam. I then had to go back to have paps every 3 months because of precancerous conditions. Each dr does have his/her own preferences though. Maybe you should call and verify anda also explain your own worries?Best wishes.

I had 1 & 2 wk post-op appt. The next appt is in 4wks..Hopefully all will be good and I can get on with my life. I kept my cervix too, but my doctor told me that I would never have another period again. I hope not.. I have been reading about having to get silver nitrate to stop the mini periods.. I am willing bec I have suffered way too long with heavy never-ending periods.. I dont want anymore bleeding after going thru all this..

I don't see my doctor until 6 weeks. Of course he told me to call if I had any concerns. I have the suture tape on my incision and he showed my dh how to cut the stitches at one end and pull out the string in there. He is suppose to do this on Thursday. He's not worried about it but I am!
