My new CA125 is :>

Well after one chemo my CA125 went from 139 to 27. Yea! I was happy about that.

Second chemo did not go as well as the first. I was awake from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. getting very sick I had to have a new port put in the same day since my old one had broken. So, I think maybe the anesthesia (and possibly the Burger King Whopper), might have had something to do with it. Also, my oncologist raised my dosage of Carbo. So, I think all of that made me so sick.

Just wanted to share my good news. Hope everyone else with appointments, tests, etc this week has good results!

and s to all

WOW Basketnut - That is Great News about the CA125. Not so great about being sick, but maybe you have identified the culprit(s) and it will go better next go round.

My prayers are with you!

Wow!

Thyat is a fantastic result after one treatment!

Hopefully the rest will drive it lower and your side effects will ease off on future treatments.

YEAH!!!! Great news on the CA125!!!!

Do you get Zofran before your chemo? I was given a big dose, 16 mgs, in my IV before the chemo. Then I took it every 6 hours, around the clock, to control the nausea. It worked! You might want to ask the nurses in your infusion room about it. Zofran is great stuff. I was told that cisplatin (a cousin of carboplatinum) causes more nausea than any other chemo but I never came close to vomiting. Anesthesia always makes me vomit, even with Zofran. But I think it may be the pain killers that they gave me after surgery. Major pain killers on an empty stomach don't sit well with me. So you may well be right, you had a bad combination of things. But it's worth it, to kick the butt of the beast!
