My pre-surgical shave was done with an electric razor type thing (battery-powered, though), so I didn't get any bumps afterward. This was a good thing because I did get a lot if itchy bumps from the binder I had to wear (similar to the Swelly Belly Band but wider). The things we ladies endure!!!!

Best of luck!!!!!!

As some of the others have said, many doctors don't shave their hyst patients. I expected to be shaved, but had just about a half an inch of the top shaved. It didn't bother me when it grew back.

Magic Powder can be found on eBay.

Good luck to you!

I never even thought about the possibility of having to be shaved! Now I will have to ask my dr! LOL

It truly is amazing that men get embarrassed when having to "turn and cough" and yet, I had 2 of my kids at a teaching hospital and by the end, I would have let the janitor check my cervix if it would have sped things up! ROTFL! Hugs Raymo

Wow, thanks for the tip on the cream. Never heard of it but definitely gonna try it.

I had a LSH and the nurse shaved me with the electric razor. I don’t know why they had to shave me to drill holes in my tummy??
I think the shaving and the enema was the worst thing about this whole hysterectomy experience!

Hi,
Isn't Veet (or Immac as it used to be called) available in the US? Sorry to ask what may be a really stupid question?

Thanks for the info on the Magic Powder. Just wondering if it is safe to use down there? I know that epilatory creams such as Nair have a warning not to use in pubic area. Does someone know?
