post op hysterectomy pre op cervical stump removal

Think I'm hovering between post op and pre op. Just want to know if anyone has had their surgical stump removed vaginally. I just want to know how sore I'm going to be and how long the recovery is. Thanks.

Why are you having your cervix removed? I am having bleeding issues for the past month. My SAH was last October. Did you try any other treatments first? Is your upcoming surgery outpatient? I might be in the same boat in the very near future.

I don't understand either. If your cervix was to be removed, why wasn't it done at the same time as your surgery?

cervical stump removal

To make a very long story short. I have posted it all here before but i don't know how to redirect you to my previous posts. Firstly, this is an excellent site for help, listeners and advice. I had an abdominal sub total hysterectomy 3 years ago. Due to adhesions from previous surgeries, ie. c-section and fallopian tube surgery and removal of left ovary, my surgeon was worried about the amount of bleeding during the hysteretomy and so decided the safer option was to leave my cervix intact. For just over 2 years I was a new woman no pain no periods what could be better. Then I started having mini bleeds or cycles. The amount of blood is tiny but it's the pain. Severe menstrual cramping and dragging back ache. My gynaecologist tried an aggressive dilation of the cervix which seemed to stop the bleeding but the pain continues. I am 44 years old and no way near menopause. The only way to rid myself of this pain is to remove my cervical stump. It is to be done vaginally to avoid excessive bleeding. I was interested to know if anyone has had this procedure done. How sore is it and how long is the recovery. Thanks ladies
