Pelvic Congestion Syndrome

Has anyone had a total hysterectomy as a result of pelvic congestion syndrome? I am 3 years post op and still having problems.

I'm sorry you're still having problems. I didn't have pelvic congestion syndrome, I did find some information for you in our Resources database:
Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, What is It?
Pelvic Congestion Syndrome

I hope the information helps.

Thanks for reply

Thank you so much for the reply. I spoke with a nurse last night who was doing some research for me and she could not find anything on pain this far after surgery. I am going to try to contact the Dr who did my surgery to see if he has any ideas. I have been putting it off because I am so tired of pointless expensive tests that tell me nothing. Sorry for the whine.

Whining is allowed here. It is frustrating to have ongoing pain and to undergo the battery of tests that go along with trying to find answers. Been there, done that, many times. The tests are necessary though to be able to rule things out. You never know when a test may provide some clues and answers. I hope your doctor will be able to help. Do keep us posted, you're not alone, many of us have been down that road and do understand.

The rest of the story

I had sent out a request for info on pelvic congestion syndrome and problems post op. Well I thought I would send out the rest of the story. I did very well after my surgery (Dec. 2002). Once recovered I felt great compared to how I was doing before surg. I could hardly walk. So when I still had some minor back pain I didn't think much of it due to the fact that I have Fibromyalgia (FMS). By Sep of 2004 the FMS was flared up really bad so at the advice of a nutritional consultant I was tested for Lyme Disease. It came back possitive and we also found a tarlov cyst on my sacrum. I was in much pain all over. I started a nutritional program and after a few months was feeling pretty good again but still the low back pain. In the spring of 2005 I started extensive chiro care for the nagging low back pain that just would not go away. Traction stirred it up big time then in June I had a bad fall which created a need for constant pain meds. So we took a closer look at the MRI and the cyst. 5 docotrs later they all say the tarlov cyst is not the cause of my pain. Still daily pain meds to function. I even tried a colonic program (due to chronic constipation) thinking the pain could be digestive related. Still have pain. Recently I started thinking maybe the PCS could have something to do with it and I remembered this site. So here I am 3 years post op and still have cramps.
