has ANYONE had good luck with adhesion removal surgery???

Whatsnormal, Good for you! I am glad to hear you will be having the lap. I totally understand what you are saying about looking forward to surgery..when you are in pain for so long there is not only a physical need for answers but a mental/emotional need to know what is going on in our bodies. My story is so much like Tami S.s...I won't go into it all here, but I know what it is like to know something is not right and to pursue answers and I know the relief one feels at finding out what has been the cause of the pain. Best wishes to you...you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I did it!

Hi Sisters,
Well, I finally did it! After having to wear menstrual heating pads just to get through work, I finally decided on the lap. I had it Friday, am still so very sore from the gas, and four new holes in belly, and massive bruising and swelling. But the doctor (NOT the one that did my TAH/BSO) said I was loaded with bands of scar tissue that acted like rubber bands and had my bowels all tied up. He removed them all, and put some pink liquid in the abdomen that has since leaked out the incisions to hopefully stop them from re-forming. It is hard to tell if this worked our not, as left sided pain is still there, but it is very bruised over there, as that is where most of the pain has always been. He told my hubby that he did a good job of cleaning me up, I will have a post-op in two weeks, and he took pictures, so hopefully I will know more then. My bladder is having a hard time "waking up" had to use depends the first night home, and the bowels haven't moved yet, so I'm still just a walking zombie, on pain meds and hoping that this worked! Will keep you all posted.

Glad you are home and doing well. I'm sure it made a difference just knowing what your pain was caused from. I think not knowing is stressful.
Best wishes!

has ANYONE had good luck with adhesion removal surgery???

Bless your heart! I sure do hope things are going better for you now. As I've read this thread my heart goes out to all of you who've suffered the pain of adhesions after surgery. I'm now 6 months post-op and when I saw my gyn/onc a week ago he dictates his notes from our visit into the phone for later write-up. For the first time I learned that from my tubal ligation back in my 40's there was scarring (attaching to my umbilicus) which had to be cleared away upon my hysterectomy. I had been wondering why I had such a painful spot there. Wonder what the pink goo was? Sure hope it helps. Best wishes.

Dear whatsnormal....

So glad to hear you had your lap, too! Sounds like we had much the same problems with the adhesions. Sad it took so long for us to get help. I am still sore too but am hoping it is just from the swelling. I am still quite bloated but the bruises have disappeared. I got pictures, too, and they are very interesting to say the least. I am praying everyday that we all get better. Good luck to you...and all the sisters dealing with this.
