what are you reading?

I'm currently rereading 'Merry Hall' by Beverly Nichols. He was a UK writer and war correspondent, and this book describes how he fell in love with a Georgian mansion in the English countryside, bought it after WWII and restored the house and garden. He was one of the 'bright young things' from the 1920s, hanging around with Noel Coward and Cecil Beaton. There's no other writer like him - witty, sharp, a little misogynystic at times, but he makes me laugh so much. His writing really is a window into another era, and he caricatures people to perfection.

I`m reading Stephen King`s novel "Cell".......he`s a "native son" from Maine and I`ve met him personally yrs. ago .....he and his wife are nice people.........Hard to believe the books he write`s come out of that mind!!!!! It`s not his best work (I`m only half-way through the book) but it`s okay

I read "The Jane Austen Book Club" and enjoyed it, too. I just got "Cell" by Stephen King and will be reading that next. I've been a big fan of his for 30 years.

Thumbs up - what are you reading? what are you reading?

I enjoy reading things by lots of authors , but some of my most recent favourites are Adrianai Trigianni - read her book roccoco - about an interior designer, Jaquelyn Mitchard - 12 times Blessed and JoJo Moyes- Foreign Fruit.
Looking forward to doing lots of reading during my Recuperation- after the fuzzy brain feeling from the anaestethic wears off.

what are you reading?

I am reading "The Mermaid Chair" right now, I haven't got into it yet because I am so wacky at the moment, my last book was "A Hole in the Heart" by Christopher Marquis. I really enjoyed that. I read so fast that I tend to save up a pile of books to get me through!

what are you reading?

huntersridge, That's the book I am reading now. You do know the show on FOX called "Bones" is an adaptation of all of Kathy Reich's experiences as an anthropoligist.

I think she's the best of the forensic genre.

Her hero, Temp, is so compassionate.
