Sore Boobs PMS...Does It Go Away?

After the hyster, do tender boobs, and pms symptoms continue?.

I am keeping my ovaries. For the past ten years, I have had night sweats before AF, my boobs have always felt sore,(more like they are bruised!), and I get emotional. PLEASE tell me this ends! LOL. Seriously would like to hear from both sides of the fence.

Unfortunately for me, these symptoms have continued. Very sore boobs, insomnia and headaches. At least I don't have the period and cramping that follows anymore. It is a small comfort to know that my ovary is in working order. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

It still lasts...I'm sorry. I'm just over a year post hyst and you still get the pms and sore boobs. It's not too bad, but it's still there. It's the effect of still having your ovaries. I just make sure that I have the Ben & Jerry's close by.

Sad to say, but I've gotta agree with everyone above ... it has stayed for me too. We now call it PMN ... the "N" being for "nothing" LOL. The first few months were very wierd ... I kept expecting to get my period because it all felt so normal!

On the other side of the fence...I guess I'm the odd one here. Even though I kept my ovaries, my PMS has diminished greatly. My breasts used to get very sore each month, but now I just have a day of mild tenderness and that's not even every month. I don't get as emotional or irritable as I used to either.

If you retain your cervix and ovaries, there is a chance to have a mini period. If you have the cervix removed, you shouldn't have periods whether or not you keep your ovaries since it's the cervix that still has some uterine lining attached to it. You can read a little about mini periods here.

Sore Boobs PMS...Does It Go Away?

I am right around the time my period would have arrived. It is my first one since my surgery. I have sore boobs right now, but I am not experiencing any tiredness like I did before. I think that because I am not tired I don't seem to be as emotional or impatient like before. I also kept my ovaries, so it should be interesting to see what it is like without all the bleeding, clotting, cramping, back aches, etc.

Yep ya still get heavy sore boobies and all the same (choclate for me ) cravings and PMS in fact my PMS is worse right now. I think my one ovary has not balanced out completly. I was a WITCH!!!!!!!
But I don't get cramps, yucky blood clots, nausua, very painful back aches and I don't have to wear a tampon and a diaper!!!
So I think I can live with the other LOL.
