What's the BEST part of having this surgery?

I wonder what will be the best part of having a hysterectomy. I dread the hospital, needles, pain, restrictions, etc, but there has to be a silver lining to this cloud.......

What's the BEST part of having this surgery?

For me the best part is no more heavy bleeding for 7-10 days a month, no more cramps where I can barely get out of bed because of the pain.

What's the BEST part of having this surgery?

I'm not sure but here's my list of the "givens"....I'm convinced lots of my other phyical ailments are going to be eased too...

1. never again having to call in sick and try to explain why in a tactful way
2. never having to blot away the spot on my office chair
3. never again having cramps that make me scream
4. not having to regularly cancel plans made way in advance
5. never having to throw out brand new underwear after 1 wear
6. saving money (no more cases & cases of pads & tampons, advil or bcp's)
7. a flatter tummy
8. people will stop asking when I'm going to have kids
9. not having to use every public restroom along the turnpike to change a pad every 30 minutes
10. having the energy to enjoy my life again

I'm sure there's more....I don't want to get my hopes up too much, though.

What's the BEST part of having this surgery?

Hi Maxandkel,

Well for me it's no pain, no never ending bleeding with clots, no anemia, freedom to be intimate when I want and even though I'm in surgical menopause I actually feel calmer. I'm still finding the insomnia the worst part of it all.

Take care and keep positive..........Karen

What's the BEST part of having this surgery?

For me it is in hopes of the future to be pain free from the endometriosis and the adenomyosis, not having limitations in anything that I am wanting to do because of the pain, being able to be more intimate with my husband, actually finding out what size I wear because of the constant swollen belly before my trip to the castle.

What's the BEST part of having this surgery?

Oh my, where to begin. I can stop planning my life around my period and hopefully build up my blood and NOT be anemic for the first time in years.

Plus, it is nice to have people do things for you and get out of the most hated chores HA HA!

What's the BEST part of having this surgery?

I'm looking forward to a summer on my boat and not having to worry about getting out of the water with red streaks running down my legs! I'm also looking forward to saving some money since I feel like I have kept Kotex in business for way too many years.

What's the BEST part of having this surgery?

You don't have to worry about the dog going through the bathroom trash and dragging used up pads out to living room to show off to your guests!

What's the BEST part of having this surgery?

No more pain from endometriosis, bad cramps, heavy bleeding, and 2 week headaches and nausea from over-dosing on ibuprofen to prevent pain and cramps--is what I know will be the best part!

What's the BEST part of having this surgery?

No more back pain, leg pain, cramping, achey vaginal pain, painful intercourse, being so tired that I couldn't be the same active person that I once was, heavy bleeding, clotting, bleeding through and ruining my clothes, bloating, weight gain, and painful BMs. I feel like a new person.
