Incisional Hernia

I am post-op 4 months now. At the end of three months, I went to physician for a bulge. Turns out to be a hernia. Not sure what I did, but she said even coughing from my cold at end of Dec. could have done it. That was 2 months after my TAH/BSO for uterine Cancer. I am cured. I will be going for surgery again on 3/3/06. Sisters, please be careful even when you're restrictions are lifted. Dealing with the Hot Flash marathon is enough. Has anyone else developed a n incisional hernia?? It never occurred to me. My prayers are with you all. Keep up the support for everyone.

Incisional Hernia

Soniek, My hernia is located halfway down and bulges to the side. However the Dr. also said they may have to open up the whole incision as the top felt weak to him. He said that the hernia bulges at the path of least resistence . I would have yours checked by your Dr. as you are having pain. They say they only get bigger and then you run the risk of severe complications. He says they are going to repair with mesh to make the healing stronger. Hope this helps. Let me know what your Dr. Says...Good Luck and take care

Incisional Hernia

I had one from a prevoius surgery. The surgery wasn't a big deal. They use the same incision from the other surgery, pushed everything back in and put a mesh screen over it. The problem I had was when they did my hyster the mesh had adhered to my bladder and bowels and had to be cut away so they could move my stuff around to get to the ovaries, uterus and the likes. I have watching this biniki cut incision like a hawk to make sure I don't get another one. Good luck with yours

Incisional Hernia

ten days after a vaginal hyst. I ended up in the emergency room due to severe right abdominal cramps. After tests to rule out bowel obstruction I am home after five days in hospital still with cramping on the right lower abdomen. Anyone out there with these symptoms. Help?

Incisional Hernia

I had surgery for my hernia 3/3/06. Dr. said I had a total of 3 hernias. Repaired with mesh. Still have some difficulty where the mesh is attached. Still can't lift over 10#; or if I can't do it with 1 hand I can't do it. Again, when you have a hysterectomy, don't go too fast just because the Dr. does says you can return to normal activity. I'm taking it real cautious. Don't want any more abdominal surgery. God Bless everyone.
